Jose Mourinho is mad at Antonio Conte's antics, which is hilarious coming from him
Jose Mourinho had some words for Antonio Conte after his Manchester United team got throttled by Conte's Chelsea, 4-0. What about?
Apparently, he didn't like Conte's behavior on the sideline.
Conte spent much of the second half jumping around, celebrating and hugging anyone he could find. You know, because his team won 4-0. And late in the match, he gestured to the entire crowd to get up and cheer his team. Again, because his team won 4-0.
Mourinho didn't like that, saying that the way Conte acted is how a manager should act in a 1-0 match, not 4-0.
See, the thing about that is Mourinho is a man who has sprinted the length of the sideline and done a knee slide. And run circles around the dugout. And celebrated in pretty much every way imaginable. Yes, it was usually in a closer match than 4-0, but he doesn't get to decide when it is OK to celebrate like a madman and when not to. He rides for #TeamCelebrate and that means Conte gets to join the team if he wants*. Mourinho, of all people, doesn't get to criticize touchline antics.
None of this really matters. Mourinho probably didn't even mean what he said to Conte. He is the king of creating an alternate storyline to distract people from talking about how team and how they got embarrassed. Now, people will talk about celebrations, him and Conte, not his team. But that doesn't make what he said any less hilarious coming from him.
*Conte is probably the team captain, to be honest.
