Juve insist Pogba remains off market as they near Scudetto glory
Juventus could effectively wrap up a fifth Serie A title on Wednesday night and director Beppe Marotta insists that will not mean the end of the Paul Pogba era.
Should second-placed Napoli lose at home to Bologna on Tuesday, Juve would pull 12 points clear by beating Lazio in Turin 24 hours later.
Given there would then only be four games of the season remaining, the Bianconeri, who have a superior head-to-head record against Napoli, would be out of reach.
There has been talk all season about the completion of a winning cycle, with boss Massimiliano Allegri and star players including France midfielder Pogba linked with new challenges in the summer.
But Juve resisted the urge to cash in on their young asset following his domestic and European exploits last year and are committed to doing so again, according to Marotta.
"No Juventus player is on the market at the moment," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Last summer the club made an important decision about Pogba. For us he has been a key element of the team for some years.
"He's happy with us, he's improved, he's become a champion - this is his natural habitat.
"So from the club's point of view, we don't want to sell our best players, and there's also the desire of the player to stay here to take into account."
The Scudetto is all but out of Roma's reach following back-to-back draws but they can continue their pursuit of Napoli with a home victory over Torino. Veteran striker Francesco Totti may have a part to play over the run-in as his goal from the bench secured a point at Atalanta on Sunday.
Behind them are improving Inter Milan, who visit Genoa, and then Fiorentina, who must face struggling Udinese at the Stadio Friuli.
AC Milan were victorious at Sampdoria under new coach Cristian Brocchi and will look for another positive result when Carpi visit San Siro.
Carpi are locked in a fierce battle against relegation with Frosinone - a point behind them in 18th place before travelling to Chievo - and hapless Palermo, who were thumped 4-0 by Juve last time out.
Returning boss Davide Ballardini must deliver a home win over Atalanta at the Stadio Renzo Barbera if the Sicilians are to escape the drop zone this weekend.
Elsewhere, Sassuolo host Samp and Empoli entertain basement boys Hellas Verona, whose descent to Serie B will be confirmed should they lose in Tuscany and Carpi triumph in Milan.
