TURIN, Italy --

Juventus says Stephan Lichtsteiner's condition will be monitored over the next few days after the defender was hospitalized Wednesday night following breathing difficulties during a match.

Lichtsteiner had to be replaced at halftime during the home match against Frosinone and spent the night at the Mauriziano hospital in Turin.

Juventus says Thursday that he ''was kept under observation throughout the night and discharged this morning after the symptoms subsided.''

Lichtsteiner did not train on Thursday and Juventus adds it is ''unlikely'' the 31-year-old Switzerland international will be available for Saturday's match at Napoli.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw after Frosinone defender Leonardo Blanchard headed in a stoppage-time equalizer to secure a first ever Serie A point for his side.
