CARSON, Calif. (AP) LA Galaxy goalkeeper Brian Rowe will be sidelined six to eight weeks by a groin injury.

The Galaxy announced their latest major injury Thursday.

With fellow Galaxy goalkeeper Clement Diop away on international duty with Senegal until next weekend, the Galaxy likely will face D.C. United on Saturday with third-string goalie Jon Kempin in their net. Kempin hasn't played in MLS since 2015.

Rowe was hurt while working out on his own Monday. The UCLA product is 3-2-2 this season.

On Wednesday, the Galaxy announced that defender Daniel Steres will be sidelined for several weeks with a strained hamstring. They are already without injured midfielders Jermaine Jones, Baggio Husidic and Sebastian Lletget and defender Robbie Rogers.

The Galaxy (5-5-2) have won three straight road games heading to Washington.
