Leicester, Tottenham players make up nearly entire PFA Premier League Team of the Year

Leicester City are the top team in the Premier League and Tottenham Hotspur are second, so it is no wonder that players from the two teams make up nearly the entire PFA Premier League Team of the Year. The two clubs provided eight of the 11 players, with one player from each of Manchester United, Arsenal and West Ham rounding out the squad.

Unsurprisingly, Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy lead the way up top. They are the league's two leading scorers, with Kane notching 24 goals already and Vardy tied with Sergio Aguero on 22 goals. It's been an incredible ascent for both players, considering Kane wasn't the starter for Spurs at the start of last season and Vardy was playing non-League soccer just five years ago.

Riyad Mahrez, who has been arguably the most creative player in the league this season, checks in at one midfield spot, joined by teammate N'Golo Kante. Kante has starred in his first year at Leicester, having joined the Foxes in the summer, and already is one of the best players in England. Dele Alli, who only turned 20 years old last week and was in League One last season, is there with Kante, while West Ham's talisman Dimitri Payet rounds out the midfield.

The defense is anchored by a pair of Spurs players, with Toby Alderweireld at one centerback spot and Danny Rose at left back. The duo has helped make Tottenham the top defensive team in the Premier League, while Leicester's Wes Morgan joins Alderweireld in the heart of defense. Hector Bellerin is the fourth defender, checking in at right back.

David De Gea is the team's goalkeeper, which makes sense considering he has been the glue to Manchester United's mess of a season. That becomes even more amazing considering the Red Devils nearly sold him at the transfer deadline.

There will be some who believe Mesut Ozil should have cracked the team on the strength of his terrific start to the season, but he's struggled in the second half. Eric Dier could have been Tottenham's fifth player in the team, but there are only so many midfield spots. Aguero has a shout with 22 goals, but the same depth of quality is true at striker.
