Lionel Messi takes crossbar challenge to next level

Lionel Messi, as we've long known, is probably from another planet. There's no denying that his left foot is otherworldly, at worst. In case anyone had forgotten that, the Barcelona talisman took to Facebook to post a quick reminder.

Now, for the uninitiated, the "crossbar challenge" is a simple premise coupled with difficult execution. Traditionally, a ball is placed at the top of the 18-yard box with the goal being to chip a shot that will hit the crossbar. It requires delicate skill and just enough power to pull off.

Messi, being Messi, took it up a notch:

Nothing like sauntering up to a corner kick and perfectly kissing it off the top of the crossbar.

"I hit the crossbar from the corner flag on my first attempt. Let's see if you can do it too," Messi wrote on Facebook.

His first attempt! We'll keep trying our luck with the crossbar challenge the old-fashioned way, Leo ... Thanks.
