Liverpool boss Klopp wary of revitalized Chelsea
Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool side travel to Chelsea on Friday night under no illusion as to the size of the task despite recent successes there.
Liverpool blew champions Leicester City away at the weekend with a scintillating display of attacking football in a 4-1 win, while Chelsea battled to a 2-2 draw at Swansea City.
Despite their opponents dropping points, Klopp saw enough to suggest the Reds could be in for a tough evening at Stamford Bridge.
“I’m very excited, games against Chelsea are always special things in the Premier League,” Klopp told his pre-match press conference.
“They’re a strong side and they’re in a good moment. I saw 90 minutes of their last game against Swansea and everybody who saw it saw they could’ve won this game.”
The Blues had won three of four before the bruising encounter at the Liberty Stadium, giving Klopp plenty to ponder on.
“(They’re) competitive, physically strong, with the experience of last year – champions two years ago, then a difficult year – changing manager, all that stuff.

“The last season was not a Chelsea season, but now they are back on track. We need to be ready for a real challenge.
“They defend well and attack quick and strong, so it’s not the easiest job in world football, but still we feel quite confident we can do something there.”
Liverpool are unbeaten in three Premier League games against Chelsea, drawing two, and winning on their last visit to the Bridge last season.
The Anfield side have a good recent record in West London having lost on only one of their last six league visits, winning three and drawing twice.
“It’s exciting – it’s a game you can look forward to,” said Klopp. “Friday night, Chelsea – it sounds good! Let’s go there and try everything.
“We have a challenge and we want to go there and we want to create real problems for them. We want to be strong and get a result.”
Defender Dejan Lovren returns to the squad for the Reds, but Emre Can will miss out.
