Liverpool are to face Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup fourth-round
Well Liverpool could have drawn an easier team to play. The EFL Cup fourth-round draw has paired Liverpool with Tottenham Hotspur, as both sides fight to stay in the competition.
This match will take place at Anfield, on the 25th of October and kick-off will be at 7.45pm UK time. The game will also be broadcast on Sky Sports. Sky’s fourth-round draw has also created another Manchester derby, which is convenient as they own the TV rights.
Hows the draw?
As far as Liverpool are concerned the draw could have been kinder. Tottenham can be tough on their day, and the Red’s will need to be at their best in order to progress. Jurgen Klopp’s team has stepped up recently, so I’m not too worried.
The defensive improvements are noticeable, and with Loris Karius to come into the starting XI we’ll only get stronger. Our attacking players are linking well and its paying off in goals. Sadio Mane has been a key addition, but the likes of Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana have really stepped up.
Consistency is key for our side that performs better against stronger sides. Usually the weaker teams pose more of a threat, but hopefully Klopp can fix that.
Winning a cup this season would be amazing, and even better with a top four finish. With the other big teams (apart from Arsenal) having tough fixtures, this could be a good time to progress. To win competitions you need to beat the best, so we shouldn’t moan at playing Tottenham at this stage of the competition.

I’d rather face Spurs than Manchester City if I’m honest, so for me it could have been worse. Hopefully the team steps up and makes it through.
