Liverpool's Emre Can injured on international duty

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

As if Liverpool fans are not loud enough about the holding midfield problems, Emre Can has picked up another injury.

Can injured, DAMN IT! What do we as Liverpool need to do to get a break from all the bad luck? Klopp, what will you do about it?

Normally if it’s not Daniel Sturridge injured, it’s Daniel Sturridge injured. The only player you expect 9 times out of 10 to come back from an international break injured.

Surprisingly enough, Sturridge is fit and the rest of the team around him are dropping like flies.

With news just in about Can’s foot injury. (Read up on it here if you like, This is Anfield ). It seems Emre is the 1 out of 10 to come back with an injury.

You have to sit and worry about going into the rest of the season with only Jordan Henderson and Lucas Leiva as the holding players for the team.

One player (Henderson) is finding his feet in his new roll. The other player (Lucas) a constant yellow card in the team or a potential free-kick away from a goal conceded.

Lucas has a problem of getting injured himself and so does Henderson, who says the luck will change and these two stay fit for a whole season?

Klopp is literally telling himself we have enough cover for each player. While many know this is not true.

The way things are looking at the moment. It gives the impression, Liverpool and Klopp will one day have to play with a formation such as 1-4-0-2-3.

What we can do to solve the problem:

We could go into the market, break bank on a playerand be safe for the season. Most unlikely option considering Klopp’s comments of being done in the market.

However, using the likes of Joel Matip and Kevin Stewart as the holding players, but would you want Matip out your back line or would you want all that pressure on young man Stewart?

All of these things depend on the seriousness of Emre’s injury. If it’s not too critical, we will be okay then, but just okay.

Emre could get injured again during the season. Him being out for as long as a month is detrimental to the team.

What needs to be asked now, how many important players like Emre have to get injured before we make significant inquires.

How many points do we have to drop before a signing needs to be made before we can confirm this is a risk.

We trust in Klopp yes, but injuries have become as frequent as EPL results. This is not something that supports the ambitions of top four club.
