Liverpool's Henderson breaks bone in right foot in training

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has broken a bone in his right foot and is expected to be out of action for up to eight weeks.

The 25-year-old suffered the injury in training on Friday having only just returned to Melwood after flying out to New Jersey this week to see a specialist about his heel problem on the other foot.

Manager Brendan Rodgers said on Friday he hoped to have his captain available for Sunday's Premier League clash with Norwich, but Henderson is now likely to have minor surgery on Monday and will not return until November.

The England midfielder has missed three league games since injuring his heel in the Reds' 1-0 win over Bournemouth on August 17.

Liverpool have struggled in his absence, picking up just one point from nine and suffering back-to-back defeats to West Ham and Manchester United.
