Man City starlet Gabriel Jesus leads Palmeiras to first Brasileiro title since 1994

Palmeiras have won the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A for the first time since 1994 after beating Chapecoense 1-0 on Sunday.

Palmeiras were lead by Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Jesus, who put off his £27 million transfer to Manchester City until January so he could achieve his dream with his hometown club. The 19-year-old scored 12 goals for the Alviverde, leading their scoring charts for the season, and it was only fitting that he lifted the trophy for Palmeiras in their final match before he joins up with the Citizens in January.

It wasn't just Gabriel Jesus this season though. The Verdao were lead by captain Ze Roberto, who became the oldest man to ever win the Brazilian Championship at a staggering 42 years of age.

They're going to party like it's 1994, and the celebrations will continue all night on the green side of Sao Paulo. And for good reason.

Congratulations, Palmeiras.
