Manchester United add youngsters to Europa League squad
Manchester United have added four youngsters to Europa League group, giving two of them squad numbers for the first time.
Goalkeeper Joel Pereira and defender Donald Love have joined the B-list while Reagan Poole and Will Keane come in on the A-list.
Under UEFA rules, no club may have more than 25 players on List A during the season, two of whom must be goalkeepers. As a minimum, eight places are reserved exclusively for 'locally-trained players', of which no more than four can be 'association-trained players'.
The rules also state a player can be registered on List B if he is born on or after January 1, 1994 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA.
Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption. Each club is entitled to register an unlimited number of players on List B during the season.
Portugal youth international Pereira, 19, will wear the No 40 shirt having returned from a two-month loan spell at Rochdale.
Love - a 21-year-old defender - spent time on loan at League One side Wigan earlier this season and will wear No 37.
Midfielder Nick Powell, who was in the Champions League squad, is omitted after joining Championship side Hull City until the end of the season.
Louis van Gaal's side face Danish champions FC Midtjylland in their last-32 tie, with the away leg up first on February 18.
