Marco Fabian continues hot streak with chest goal against Bayern Munich
Marco Fabian was already being labeled a flop after an ordinary first half-season with Eintracht Frankfurt. How much can change in a couple months!
The Mexico international was handed Frankfurt’s No. 10 shirt upon his arrival from Chivas Guadalajara in the January transfer window, but failed to score in all eleven games he played and was eventually dropped from the starting lineup. Nothing seemed to go right for Fabian last season. Now, he’s suddenly Eintracht’s most important player and scoring goals against Bayern Munich with his chest.
That gave Fabian his third goal of this campaign, and it rescued Frankfurt a point against the league leaders and four-time defending champions. Impressively, Frankfurt earned the point despite having gone down to ten men midway through the second half.
Fabian scored in a wild 3-3 draw against Hertha Berlin two weekends ago, assisted on the game-winner against Ingolstadt and scored and assisted in his team’s 2-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen last month, so the 27-year-old has now had a big hand in earning eight of Frankfurt’s eleven points so far this season.
In other words, he’s no longer a flop.
