Mario Suarez's dad after his son scored twice: 'For (expletive)'s sake'
Valencia midfielder Mario Suarez has enjoyed a strong start to the 2016 season with his new club. Suarez left Atletico Madrid after cutting his teeth as a youth at the club and making over 120 appearances, but friction with manager Diego Simeone spelled the end of that union.
Now that he's getting regular run outs with Valencia, he's starting to flourish a bit. His two goals this past weekend against Sporting Gijon were a nice start, but not everybody in his support circle was stoked with the performance. Enter: Suarez's dad.
"For (expletive)'s sake, you have never scored two goals in one game in your life and you do it today..." the Valencia midfielder said of his dad's reaction, as translated by Football Espana.
The thing about Suarez's dad is that he's a Sporting fan. With Sporting mired in a relegation battle with just seven points to start the season, every loss i critical. It's true, Suarez hadn't scored a brace in his professional career until this past weekend. Unfortunately for him, he'll have to do it again if he expects his pops to clink a bottle and cheers him for it.
And he'll have to do it against a team not named Sporting Gijon.
