Messi and Ronaldo have now combined for 1,000 career goals
Lionel Messi helped Barcelona turn the tide against Atletico Madrid on Saturday -- and made some history in the process.
Barca fell behind early and had their hands full at the Camp Nou, but Messi's equalizer in the 30th minute changed the game's complexion as the hosts eventually went into halftime with a 2-1 lead.
And @FCBarcelona roar back to life. @Neymarjr, Alba and then @TeamMessi to put cherry on top. 1-1. #LaLigaEN https://t.co/MDwwvHQ0TW

It wasn't the prettiest or most dramatic goal Messi's ever scored, but it did set quite the remarkable milestone: The goal was the 1,000th scored between Messi and his longtime nemesis, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Messi, at age 28, now has 482 career goals for club and country, while the soon to be 31-year-old Ronaldo sits at 518 career goals.
Here's to 1,000 more? Hey, nothing is impossible with those two.
