Messi, Suarez and Pique's kids join the FC Barcelona Escola
Remember when Leo Messi said his oldest son doesn't like soccer? We're going to find out pretty soon if this was just a phase, or if young Thiago actually wants to follow in his dad's footsteps: Messi, Luis Suarez and Gerard Pique's sons all just took part in their very first session with the FCBEscola.
Milan Pique is already a die-hard fan of the game, according to his mom Shakira: "Right now, Milan is obsessed with football. He's the biggest Barca fan on the planet. He sleeps with the Barca jersey on, he sleeps with the ball, he doesn't miss one match. He knows every single team, including England teams. He wears the t-shirt of all the teams."
Maybe playing side by side with lil' Pique will rub off on tiny Messi, but it's (ridiculously early days) for now.
According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, the trio are part of a group of no more than 25 children between the ages of three and five -- Thiago's already three, as is Pique's son Milan, while Benjamin Suarez will turn three later this month. The kids train Mondays and Wednesdays, and the goal is to familiarize the kids with the ball and instill the Barca DNA in them from an early age.
The senior Barcelona trio of Messi, Pique and Suarez were reportedly all there to see their sons at this week's first session, but there's no indication whether there's any sort of gold dust in any of the tiny tots' boots yet.
After all, they can just barely walk.
