MLS Cup final tickets sell out in 3 minutes
Well, that didn't take long. MLS Cup tickets went on sale to the public today at 1 p.m. ET and by 1:03 p.m. they were all gone.
Toronto FC and the Seattle Sounders both had pre-sales for their season ticket-holders, as is customary, and then they went to the general public, where they lasted just three minutes. It's a big occasion for both sides – it's the first time both Seattle Sounders and Toronto FC have landed in the MLS Cup.
Saturday's MLS Cup will be held at Toronto's BMO Field, who has the better regular-season record of the two teams. The soccer-specific stadium was expanded this year to seat 30,000 for the regular season, but will fit 36,000 for the MLS Cup.
Tickets will probably still be available through after-market means – but hey, the fans who missed out can still watch from their couch when Saturday's MLS Cup airs on FOX, and they won't have to bundle up for Toronto weather in December either.
