Newcastle United play Wolves on Tuesday in the EFL Cup and will be looking for revenge for their league defeat on Saturday.
The midlands side traveled up north and beat the Magpies 2-0 at St. James’ Park in a result that wasn’t supposed to happen.
Toon manager Rafa Benitez will want his players to set the score right during midweek, before they face Aston Villa away from home on Saturday.
Benitez is keen to make the most of his squad this season and as a result there has been plenty of squad rotation.

It worked wonderfully against Queens Park Rangers, but a serious of poor performances on Saturday left question marks over the strategy.

Karl Darlow
Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has preferred new signing Matz Sels to Karl Darlow between the sticks in the league.
The former Nottingham Forest stopper has only played once this season and that was in the previous round of the EFL Cup.
Darlow finished last campaign strongly after injuries to both Tim Krul and Rob Elliot, although he will be disappointed to not feature in the Championship so far.
Sels has had his ups and downs in the Toon goal though and a good performance could put pressure on him.
Achraf Lazaar
Newcastle United new signing Achraf Lazaar is yet to feature following his transfer from Palermo this summer.
Paul Dummett has been the regular left-back for the Magpies, but there are gaps in his game and hopefully Lazaar can build on that.
Rafa Benitez will certainly rotate the squad for the cup game – and this would be the perfect time to hand out a number of full debuts.
Lazaar could easily be one of those as he builds his fitness up towards making his first league appearance.
Grant Hanley
Newcastle United chased Grant Hanley hard in their bid to sign him from Blackburn Rovers – but the Scotland international has played just three times this campaign.
He started the first league game of the season but was dropped until the win against Queens Park Rangers last Tuesday.
Hanley also featured against Cheltenham Town in the EFL Cup second round and so could make his fourth appearance of the season.
There were some initial concerns about his quality against Fulham, but a solid performance in the cup will see his stoke rise.
Ciaran Clark
Former Aston Villa defender Ciaran Clark has had a slightly easier route to the Newcastle United first team than Grant Hanley.
His versatility does help as Clark has featured as a left-back when Paul Dummett has been rotated out of the squad – but it’s more likely that he will feature on the middle against Wolves.
Jamaal Lascelles has already played nine games this season and it’s likely that Rafa Benitez has thought about resting him before the weekend.
If he does that, it is likely that Clark will come back into the squad to shore up the heart of the defence.
DeAndre Yedlin
Newcastle United signed DeAndre Yedlin towards the end of the summer transfer window, but he’s yet to make a full debut for the club.
He featured and scored against Derby County, but Yedlin has only had 35 minutes of action across three games to adjust to life on Tyneside.
This would be another good opportunity for Rafa Benitez to see how a new addition to the squad can do under competitive circumstances.
Its a tight call between the American and Chancel Mbemba in this position, but Yedlin just squeaks in because Benitez will want him to make a debut sooner rather than later.
Jack Colback
Ginger Geordie Jack Colback hasn’t made the pitch in the last two games against Queens Park Rangers and Wolverhampton Wanderers, but now is his time.
Colback started the season in the team, but Jonjo Shelvey and Isaac Hayden seem to have overtaken him in the pecking order.
Shelvey has started and played the full 90 minutes in the last four league fixtures, while Hayden already has eight starts under his belt.
As mentioned previously, this will be a good chance for other squad members to put their hands up for a league place – and Colback needs to do that.
Mohamed Diame
Mohamed Diame can play either in the middle of the park of behind the striker as a number 10, and in the absence of Jonjo Shelvey he drops down to the middle of the park.
Without the former Liverpool man, there needs to be someone next to Jack Colback who can drive forward and deliver excellent passes to the forward line.
Colback, for all his talents, is not this player – and in this version of the Newcastle United team Diame will take a deeper role and provide such service.
You still get a feeling that the former Hull City man is adjusting to life on Tyneside and another 90 minutes will do him well.
Yoan Gouffran
Yoan Gouffran’s Newcastle United career has gone up and down like a fiddler’s elbow and his resurrection should get another chance against Wolves.
Before Rafa Benitez began plans for a summer clear out, every fan thought the Frenchman would be the first player out the door.
But Benitez has worked his magic and been rewarded with a number of excellent performances from the player.
Gouffran missed out of the league game on Saturday but could be in line for another bite of the cherry.
Ayoze Perez
The last time Ayoze Perez played this role was against Queens Park Rangers, where he excelled – scoring a goal and setting up one other.
Perez has only hit the back of the net three times this campaign, and his first of the season came against Cheltenham Town in the last round of the cup.
After being shifted out wide on Saturday against Wolves, the youngster deserves a chance to play through the middle once more.
If he is placed behind a striker who holds the ball up well, like Aleksandar Mitrovic or Daryl Murphy, he can really come into his own.
Christian Atsu
Is it time to unleash Chelsea loan player Christian Atsu? After an encouraging substitute performance against Queens Park Rangers, the answer to that question should be yes.
Atsu is a talented player, but has lost his way during several unsuccessful loan spells away from Stamford Bridge.
His most successful spell was in the Dutch Eredivisie with Vitesse Arnhem – and the winger will want to prove all the doubters wrong at St. James’ Park.
Rafa Benitez should give him the chance to cause havoc with his pace and direct running on the right hand wing – and give Matt Ritchie a well earned rest.
Daryl Murphy
Daryl Murphy hasn’t even sniffed a blade of grass in a black and white shirt after his transfer from Ipswich Town.
While you can question the wisdom of signing a 33-year-old striker, he’s in the squad now and deserves a chance to prove himself.
With Ayoze Perez playing off Murphy, there is the chance that the pairing will achieve some level of success against Wolves.
This selection is a toss up between him and Aleksandar Mitrovic, but if Murphy is fit enough to start he should feature.
