Neymar brought this fan to tears with a simple, classy gesture
After Barcelona thrashed Sporting Gijon 5-0 over the weekend, Neymar made a point to run over to the opposite side of the pitch and give his game shirt to an opposing fan. It clearly meant a lot as the Sporting Gijon supporter was left in tears:
Now, the fan, Sergio Gonzalez, explains how the moment happened and how Neymar remembered to find the fan and bring him the momento.
"Before the start of the second half, Neymar looked into the stands where I was, and he made a sign asking if he could swap shirts with me. I blinked and he answered positively with a thumbs up,” he said, according to Mundo Deportivo.
"When the game ended it looked like he was going away. But I asked my sister wait,” he continued. "Just at that moment, he came to me and hugged another boy. Then he gave me his shirt. It was a gesture I will never forget."
The fan, who is disabled, thanked Neymar on social media afterward:
Aww. It’s a small gesture, but nothing beats footballers committing random acts of kindness for their fans.
