Lukas Podolski's agent has confirmed the Arsenal forward will sign for Galatasaray this summer.

The 30-year-old Germany international spent the second half of last season on loan at Inter Milan after falling down the pecking order at The Emirates and after a holiday in Turkey the striker has held talks with the Istanbul-based outfit.

Podolski has a year left on his Arsenal contract and is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Turkish champions for a fee of £2.85million ($4.45m) in the next week.

"We had very good talks with Wenger," Podolski's agent Nassim Touihri told Bild.

"He wanted to keep Lukas, but couldn't give him a guarantee that he will be starter. That's why we agreed on a transfer."

It will end a three-year spell for Podolski at Arsenal, who signed from Cologne for £11million in 2012.

He failed to make a Premier League start in the first half of last season but scored three goals in six cup appearances before heading for Serie A, where he managed just one goal in 18 appearances.
