Paul Pogba is finally officially set to join Manchester United

Paul Pogba's transfer to Manchester United is finally moving along. And officially at that, not just rumors, as the Red Devils have confirmed that the midfielder is undergoing a medical with the club.

"Paul Pogba has been granted permission to have a medical in order to finalize his transfer from Juventus to Manchester United," said a club statement.

The transfer has appeared nearly done for weeks, but neither club, nor Pogba, spoke about it. Then on Saturday, Juventus said that they expected Pogba in training on Monday, implying that the deal was not quite done yet and maybe it was in jeopardy. Whether that's true or not, only they know, but the two sides have come to an agreement and Juventus cleared the way for him to take his medical that would allow Pogba to rejoin the Red Devils four years after leaving Old Trafford for the Italian giants.

Jose Mourinho has been saying for weeks that the Red Devils only have one more signing to make and last week he went even further, confirming it would be a midfielder. He also said that United wanted to get all of their transfer business done by August 14, putting a clock on the negotiations.

Juventus already spent much of the rumored €110 million transfer fee from Pogba when they bought Gonzalo Higuain. They knew this deal was coming and can now get to work on winning a sixth consecutive Serie A title.

Meanwhile, Mourinho's restoration of Manchester United continues. He already brought in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly. Now he has arguably the world's best midfielder in Pogba, too.
