Paul Pogba pulled off a ridiculous piece of skill against Sweden
Fairly early in his career, Paul Pogba was labeled a "Vine footballer." This is half as a nod to his penchant for producing absurd moments of skill and wow moments, and half as a knock against his perceived tendency to disappear from matches, only producing sporadic moments perfectly encapsulated in the short highlight clip format Vine (RIP) made so popular.
Pogba has taken plenty of criticism this season following his highest of profiles transfer to Manchester United and "Vine footballer" has been used as an insult more than a few times in his initial lackluster showings. He's finally starting to find his feet in Manchester though. Off with the French national team for World Cup qualifying, he put in a dominating performance to help Les Bleus beat Sweden 2-1.
Pogba played the full 90 and scored France's equalizing goal, but his Vine moment was a spectacular one, as they often are. Dimitri Payet took a corner and the referee blew the play dead for a foul, but the ball fell perfectly for Paul Pogba. His touch? I'll let it speak for itself.
Impeccable. It's even more pleasing because the Vine loops so perfectly the ball never drops. Just a perpetual motion machine of beautiful tekkers.
Paul Pogba, Vine footballer.
