Poland and the Czech Republic were level at 0-0 at halftime of their European Championship match Saturday.

Poland, which must win to advance to the quarterfinals, created a host of scoring chances at Wroclaw's rain-drenched Municipal Stadium but couldn't take them.

Their best chance came in the 10th minute when Jakub Blaszczykowski pounced on an errant pass deep in the Czech half and fed the ball to Robert Lewandowski in the area, only for the striker to slice his left-foot shot wide of the post.

The Czechs struggled to create many scoring opportunities without playmaker Tomas Rosicky, who failed to recover from an Achilles tendon injury.

The Czechs can advance with a draw, depending on the result of Group A's other match between Russia and Greece.
