Proximus to title sponsor Belgian Second Division

Belgian telecommunications company Proximus is set to become the title sponsor of the Belgian Second Division (D1B) from the 2016/17 season, after reaching an agreement with the Royal Belgian Football Association (KBVB).

Proximus has also acquired the exclusive multimedia broadcast rights to the league from next season, in addition to its existing non-exclusive rights to the top division in Belgium, the Jupiler Pro League.

The 2016/17 campaign will be the first in the revamped format for the D1B, when it will feature just eight teams, each playing one another four times.
