The Manchester Derby is upon us! The two football powerhouses, United and City, face off on Saturday. But despite both teams set to field stars worth over hundreds of millions, the game could end up being decided by two homegrown starlets.

The Manchester derby is set to be the most expensive match-up of all time, with players worth over more than £600m set to take the stage at Old Trafford. But it could be two teenagers who could well end up deciding who comes out on top on Saturday.

Manchester United’s 18-year-old starlet Marcus Rashford, and Manchester City’s 19-year-old striker Kelechi Iheanacho are set to play a huge part in the most important game of the season. The pair came on to the scene last season, and have been hugely influential for their respective sides. They have shown that they are more than capable of producing on the biggest stage, with millions of eyes on them.

Kelechi Iheanacho, Manchester City’s Nigerian striker has already got 14 goals to his name in 38 appearances for the club. While Marcus Rashford has netted 9 times for United in 20 appearances, including goals on his Europa League debut and his EPL debut. Rashford already has experience of scoring against City as well.

It was his brilliant goal that settled the last Manchester derby in United’s favor. And after scoring the winner against Hull two weeks ago, he could well be set for another crucial role in the derby.

Iheanacho is also set to start for City, following Sergio Aguero’s 3-match suspension. He has made remarkable progress over the last couple of years, and he was the reason City let go of reputed strikers Edin Dzeko, Stevan Jovetić, and Wilfried Bony. He has an incredible goals/game ratio scoring every 92 minutes. And he could well hold key if City are to breach United’s defense, which has been impeccable this season.

There’s little to split the two sides on paper. And these two wonder kids could well end up deciding the biggest game of the season.
