Real win Cristiano Ronaldo's dive appeal, one-match ban overturned
Real Madrid will be able to call on the services of Cristiano Ronaldo against Eibar this weekend after the forward's one-match ban was overturned.
The Portuguese talisman was booked for diving in the 2-0 win at Rayo Vallecano earlier this week - his fifth caution of the season that would have warranted an automatic suspension.
However, replays seemed to suggest Ronaldo should have been awarded a penalty after being felled in the area by Rayo defender Antonio Amaya.
Real appealed against the yellow card and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has found in the club's favor.
Real said in a statement on their official website: "The RFEF competition committee has upheld the appeal submitted by Real Madrid against the yellow card shown to Cristiano Ronaldo in the match against Rayo Vallecano, agreeing to "rescind the caution imposed on the player by the referee".
"The forward will therefore be eligible to play in the La Liga matchday 31 game against Eibar."
