Report: Jordan Morris offered contract by Werder Bremen
Werder Bremen general manager Thomas Eichin hopes to complete the signing of United States forward Jordan Morris in the next few days, according to a report in a local German newspaper.
Morris spent most of last week with Bremen in a training camp in Turkey before returning to Germany with the squad over the weekend. He registered an assist in a 1-0 victory over Azerbaijani side Inter Baku on Friday to punctuate his time with the Bundesliga side.
Eichin told German outlet Weser Kurier that Bremen hopes to sign Morris and fellow trialist Laszlo Kleinheisler in the next few days.

"They have confirmed in training camp what we have seen of them in advance," Eichin said. "They fit into the scheme. The two of them will do us good."
Although Eichin hopes to tempt Morris to sign with Bremen, the deal is not concluded yet. It is unknown whether Morris plans to accept Bremen's overtures or spurn them in favor of signing a Homegrown contract with MLS side Seattle Sounders.
Seattle tendered Morris a contract offer last year to make the 21-year-old forward the highest paid Homegrown player in league history.
"He's going to go through his process," Sounders general manager Garth Lagerwey told FOX Soccer at the MLS SuperDraft on Thursday. "We're going to respect it. He's a smart kid. He's going to get all of the information he can and he's going to make a decision. I'll keep standing up here and say that I think Seattle is a pretty nice place to live and MLS is a pretty good place to start your career."
