Robert Lewandowski is ready to make history again after starting season with hat trick
Robert Lewandowski became the first Bundesliga player in 39 years to score 30 goals as Bayern Munich ran away with the league title last season. That's a career year and Lewandowski will obviously fall short of that mark this season, right? If so, someone forgot to tell him.
The striker started off the 2016-17 season with a hat trick.
He did it by getting in behind the defense and beautifully curling the ball to the top corner.
Getting on the end of crosses.
And converting from the penalty spot.
Amazingly, Lewandowski could have had even more. He hit the bar once and missed one wide open chance. This could have been a five-goal game with ease.
Instead, poor Lewandowski will have to settle for three goals. That puts him on pace for 102 this season. We're not math experts, but that is definitely more than the 30 he scored a year ago. Who knows, maybe he will top last year's tally after all.
