Roma's Szczesny out for up to six weeks with injury
ROME --
Roma goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny will be out for up to six weeks after injuring his finger in Wednesday's Champions League match against Barcelona.
Szczesny had to be replaced early in the second half of the 1-1 draw following a clash with Luis Suarez.
Roma said Thursday tests have confirmed Szczesny ''did not sustain a fracture to the fourth finger of his left hand'' but that the Poland international has a ligament strain.
The club adds that he is expected to be back in ''four to six weeks.''
Szczesny has started all four of Roma's competitive games since joining on loan from Arsenal in the offseason.
The 25-year-old Pole will miss Serie A matches against Sassuolo, Sampdoria, Carpi, Palermo and Empoli, as well as the Champions League game against BATE Borisov.
