Ronaldo to wear special boots marking the day his 'life changed' at Sporting
Tuesday night marks a special occasion for Cristiano Ronaldo: he's returning home to Lisbon, Portugal to take on his old club Sporting CP for just the second time since he left in 2003.
A moment like this one deserves commemoration, and Ronaldo will be rocking a custom one-off pair of Nike Mercurial Superfly boots to celebrate his homecoming.
The boots are emblazoned with the numbers 06/08/03, the date Sporting took on Manchester United in a friendly and everything changed for the Portuguese superstar. That was the day Ronaldo balled so hard, Sir Alex Ferguson refused to leave the stadium before making the then-17-year-old would become a Manchester United player.
CR7 of course has gone on to become one of the greatest players in the history of the game, and he's far from done yet. He scored against his old team earlier this season when Madrid hosted Sporting, and he's coming off a match-winning hat-trick performance against Atletico Madrid over the weekend.
Those boots are probably going to get some shine on Tuesday.
