Schalke's mascot showed the ref a red card at the end of the Revierderby

The end of the Revierderby between Schalke and Dortmund ended in controversy, and Schalke's mascot was not happy about it.

He was so put out, in fact, that he went ahead and dished out a red card. To the referee.

Can't say that one has come up before. Erwin (that's the mascot's name!) makes it clear who the red card is for, too, pointing at Felix Zwayer repeatedly while issuing the sending off.

Zwayer, understandably, is none-too-pleased with Erwin's antics. Who even knew that mascots carried around red cards? This should be a more regular occurrence, if you ask me. Imagine if this had happened at halftime and Erwin was sent to the stands like a manager. Just popped up there with his giant head and comically large nose.

Of course, as hilarious as this all is it will mean precious little to Schalke and their fans, who have a real gripe when it comes to the penalty shouts that Zwayer overlooked in the 1-1 draw.

But still. Mascot red card!
