Seattle Sounders' Jordan Morris Breaks MLS Rookie Record
Seattle Sounders’ Homegrown Player Jordan Morris breaks the MLS rookie record for game-winning goals.
With his goal against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday afternoon, Seattle Sounders‘ Homegrown player Jordan Morris now holds the MLS record for number of game-winning goals scored in a rookie season. So far, he has scored 5 game-winning goals, which put him past Orlando City‘s Cyle Larin and Chicago Fire‘s former player Damani Ralph who both had 4 game-winning goals their rookie seasons.
On top of breaking that record, the young US Men’s National Team striker is also tied for the lead with teammate Clint Dempsey and New York Red Bulls‘ Bradley Wright-Phillips for game winning goals this season in all of MLS.

Morris is now the first American rookie to reach double digits in scoring since former Seattle Sounder Pat Noonan scored 10 goals for the New England Revolution in 2003 during his rookie season. This makes him the 5th MLS rookie in history to have a goal-tally in double digits.
