Sky Italia scores Copa America Centenario rights
Sky Italia has announced that it has acquired the exclusive Italian broadcast rights to this summer’s Copa America Centenario soccer tournament.
The pay-TV broadcaster will show all 32 games from the special-edition national team event, which is being held in the US in June to mark 100 years since the creation of the Copa America and Conmebol, the governing body for soccer in South America.
Sky’s coverage will be shown in HD, while the broadcaster will also provide action on its Sky Go mobile offering and updates via its news service.
Sky Italia did not show last year’s Copa América. Those rights were held by RCS Media Group, the parent company of the now defunct Gazzetta TV channel.
The Copa America Centenario, which will feature teams from the Concacaf region, including the host nation, as well as South America, is set to run from 3rd to 26th June.
