Southampton hammer West Brom; Newcastle move out of drop zone
Southampton 3, West Brom 0
James Ward-Prowse scored twice in the first-half as Southampton secured a 3-0 victory over West Brom at St Mary's.
The Saints midfielder dispatched a curling 25-yard free-kick to open the scoring after five minutes on Saturday afternoon, before doubling the lead from the penalty spot ten minutes before half-time.
West Brom went close through Victor Anichebe's volley midway through the second half, but substitute Dusan Tadic sealed the three points with an excellent finish from close range.
Newcastle United 2, West Ham United 1
Newcastle moved out of the bottom three of the Premier League after a 2-1 win against West Ham at St James' Park on Saturday.
Newcastle were quickly out of the blocks with Ayoze Perez and Georginio Wijnaldum scoring in the first 15 minutes, with new £12m signing Jonjo Shelvey having a hand in both goals.
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic reacted by bringing Nikica Jelavic on at the break and the striker handed his side a lifeline in the 47th minute, but it was Newcastle who held on to record their first win in six league outings.
Bournemouth 3, Norwich City 0
Benik Afobe scored his first Premier League goal as Bournemouth eased past Norwich 3-0 at the Vitality Stadium.
Dan Gosling headed the Cherries in front on 10 minutes, before Charlie Daniels doubled their lead from the penalty spot after the break.
Afobe then finished from close range late on for his first goal following his club-record £10m transfer from Wolves last week.
