Swansea's best player says team is already better under Bob Bradley

Count Gylfi Sigurdsson among those who are happy to have Bob Bradley as Swansea's new manager. Not even two weeks after being hired, Bradley is already drawing praise from those around the club and that includes the team's best player.

"The boys really like the new manager," Sigurdsson told the club's official site. "Training has been good since he came in — really hard and really sharp. I think we have improved since he arrived and I think if we keep performing like we did in the next few games, we are going to start picking up a few wins."

The Swans lost Bradley's first match at the club, 3-2 to Arsenal. They showed the same problems in defense that they had suffered from prior to the American's arrival, with poor clearances and individual mistakes gifting the opposition goals — but they were also a legitimate threat going forward for the first time in several matches. Not only did they find the net twice, but they had a few chances to get an equalizer at the Emirates.

It's no surprise that Sigurdsson was complimentary of Bradley. He's not going to throw his manager under the bus so there's only so much you can take from a player's comments, especially after just one match. But the specifics about training being difficult and well-organized are consistent with what Bradley's players have said about him at other stops. The question now is whether Bradley can turn that work in training into results because Swansea are now in the relegation zone.
