This Celtic passing sequence (with a rabona and backheel flick!) will make you swoon
The kinds of goals that often make the highlight reels are those of individual brilliance. The acrobatic bicycle kicks, the inch-perfect free kicks and the 1v5 super runs.
But the team goal – where every player touches the ball and moves it around at a dizzying pace – may be the most beautiful of all. And boy, did Celtic give us a beautiful team goal on Sunday:
Celtic had been circling the wagons a bit, but the sequence really kicks into high gear when Moussa Dembele lays it off to Mikael Lustig and runs into the box. Lustig executes a slick rabona pass into the middle and Callum McGregor flicks it on with a backheel pass back to Dembele. The 20-year-old finishes the one-time strike and ensures the beautiful passing sequence doesn't go to waste.
In a word: lovely. And it was well-earned, too – Celtic went into halftime down 2-1 to St. Johnstone, but poured it on in the second half with goals like that one. The Hoops finished with an emphatic 5-2 comeback win, again showing why they are the class of the Scottish Premiership.
The only question now becomes, there anyone in the Scottish league that can stop Celtic? At this point, no one has stepped up and Celtic is looking like they could just go the whole season unbeaten.
Hey, if they keep scoring beautiful team goals along the way, who could be mad at that?
