The dust has barely settled following United’s 6-0 humbling of London outfit Queens Park Rangers before they have to go again.

Wolverhampton Wanderers travel up north to face Newcastle in the league on Saturday, before returning on Tuesday for an EFL Cup clash.

The Magpies are flying high and will expect to beat the team from the Midlands before the play Aston Villa on the 24th.

So click through the slides below to read about three talking points from today’s breaking Toon news.

Newcastle United have sold out their away ticket allocation for the Aston Villa game already.

The Magpies have now bought out their quota in the last five fixtures, which begs the question why aren’t we given more?

Villa have been struggling for numbers a little bit this campaign and could surely do with as many through the turnstile as possible.

The Chronicle wrote that all 2,800 tickets have been snapped up – which must beg the question: are the Toon Army the best fans in the whole league?

Queens Park Rangers manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has praised Newcastle United.

The Magpies smashed them 6-0 on Tuesday and the former Chelsea striker has admitted that they were simply too good for his side.

“They were very good. They made us look a very poor side,” qpr.co.uk reported that he said. My players gave me effort. They tried. But (they) were too good.

“I’m not going to make excuses. We couldn’t get close to them,” concluded the Dutch manager – who has won three games and lost three this season.

Has former Newcastle United manager admitted that his days of managing a football club are behind him?

The ex-England and Wolfsburg gaffer is to return to school in order to give himself more options in the world of football.

McClaren will go to Manchester Metropolitan University in order to gain a degree in Sporting Directorship.

The BBC reported that he hoped it would enable him to run his own club one day. “The next step in the future will be as a chief executive or sporting director, or even running my own club,” he said.

“To do that I had to acquire different skills and go back to school. It’s probably old age. I always wanted to coach and manage. I know that won’t last forever.”
