To Slaven, From a West Ham fan

Last week after the Watford game I wrote an open letter to Bilic in the hope it may calm me down. It didn’t really do the job, but it was good fun. So after conceding 4 goals for the second game on the bounce its time for part two

Dear Slaven,

When I wrote the letter last week I hoped we wouldn’t be doing this again so soon. Two matches. Both against ‘lesser’ sides. But we’ve conceded four in both if them. What’s going on?

My first point this week is what the hell is Masuaku paying at? Unless someone had a conversation with him midweek and asked him to be worse this game because he made the others feel bad last week I can’t really understand the performance.

The monumental stupidity that the handball must have taken was incredible. I really can’t blame you for that Slav, because you can’t baby the players. They need to accept that they have responsibility. Masuaku did not use his well. It didn’t look like he wanted West Ham to win.

The kamikaze run forward to help at a short corner was also pointless, and killed the game for us. It left no cover, and added nothing. The footballing intelligence of the side at the current time is low. Training situations needs to happen, so they can learn the consequences.

Also I understand that Reid was injured, but why is Oxford not getting a look in above Collins? The man is slow. His natural tendency to step off of the man at all times is killing us. It enables them to get shots in and a striker like Rondon is not going to turn a man. He will play the way he is facing, but he’s a strong finisher. Get tight. Stop him controlling the ball.

Can you get Zaza to run at some point as well? At the moment I’m pretty convinced he plays with his legs tired together, simply because he looks nothing like the striker who played for Juventus against us at the start of the season. Get someone in and around him more often. Please.

Also, can you tell me what you see in Calleri? Right now I’d consider him the lowest on the striker scale. Zaza, Carroll, Fletcher, Martinez and even Antonio should be ahead of him right now. He’s not strong enough on the ball to hold it up. He’s not as quick as Lanzini on the ball to trouble defenders. He doesn’t seem to like the simple stuff at all, and that’s dangerous.

Right now Payet must be ringing European clubs to see if they’ll take him. Why would he stay at West Ham? European football is impossible if half your team can’t do their job. And that’s what it’ll take to keep him here.

Please Slav, sort it out. I don’t want to start writing a when will Bilic be fired article.

      Yours Faithfully,

      Green St. Hammers
