Turkish player produces perfect response to referee's red card

Remember Salih Dursun? No? Allow us to refresh your memory.

Last month's Turkish Super Lig clash between Galatasaray and Trabzonspor produced a sundry of red cards, four just in Trabzonspor's direction. And the one that boggled the minds of many in the football world occurred in the waning moments after Luis Cavanada was issued a red card and subsequently, a penalty was awarded in favor of Galatasaray.

Perturbed by the decision, Dursun infamously ripped the card out of the referee's hand and retaliated by showing him the red card before getting sent off himself.

As a show of respect to referees, the 24-year-old changed his tune just five minutes into his side's bout with Samsunspor at the weekend.

With it being the official's last game before retiring, Ali Sukru Belduzu got quite the treatment from Dursun, who picked him up on his shoulders and gracefully escorted him off the pitch, prompting a round of applause from the surrounding players and spectators.

We all make mistakes. And even if Belduzu wasn't the recipient of Dursun's red card, we'd like to think other referees who see this may view Dursun in a more positive light.
