Former Chelsea duo Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba were reunited in Florida last night and it would've brought a tear to the eye of any Blues fan across the globe.

The pair shared a warm embrace ahead of New York City FC's 1-0 friendly win over Montreal Impact at the Al Lang Stadium in Tampa, Fl.

Lampard and Drogba spent eight years together wreaking havoc in the Premier League and across Europe for Chelsea bringing major success to Stamford Bridge in the form of three EPL titles, four FA Cup wins, two League Cup victories and of course the famous UCL penalty win over Bayern Munich in their own back yard.

But in Tampa, both players watched from the sidelines as a lone strike from NYCFC's Mikey Lopez in the 75th minute was enough to settle the encounter.

Drogba almost sealed another return to west London earlier this year following Jose Mourinho's sacking with discussions over joining Guus Hiddink's coaching staff but the Ivorian opted to return to Montreal were he scored 11 goals in 11 games last season.

Lampard, though, is beginning his first full campaign with NYCFC after his premature end to his Blues career and the ex-England international will be a big part of new boss Patrick Viera's plans this coming MLS season.
