MOENCHENGLADBACH, Germany --  United States midfielder Fabian Johnson will likely miss several weeks of action after tearing a muscle in his right calf while training with Borussia Moenchengladbach.

The Bundesliga club says Johnson is out ''for the time being'' after getting injured on Sunday, one day after the side's 4-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund in its first league game of the season. Johnson played the full game.

The 27-year-old American recently played for the United States at the Gold Cup.
