USMNT, Olympic team will debut new black kits Friday
When rumors started floating around that the United States would have a new black kit, the fans were not pleased. When a photo of the kit leaked ... it didn't get much better. And then U.S. Soccer made the kit official. But as much as fans love to look at photos of kits, or even see them on mannequins, it's tough to really judge how they look until you see them on the field.
Today, we will see the Americans' controversial black kits on a pitch for the first time. It will begin with the U-23 team taking on Colombia in the first leg of their Olympic qualifier (5 p.m. ET on FS1) and then the senior team will also wear all black when they square off against Guatemala in a crucial World Cup qualifier a few hours later.
The black shirt, which has one red sleeve and one blue sleeve, comes with black shorts and black socks
The U.S. also has a white kit, which they unveiled at the same time as the black kit. They are the first two kits to be made with U.S. Soccer's new crest in mind, so everything about the look is new.
Maybe the kits will prove to be good luck and the U.S. will walk away with a pair of wins today? Regardless, it's time to see the new look in action, and you can bet the opinions will rain down from all over the U.S. Soccer-sphere.
