Watch: Barcelona women's forward Barbara Latorre scores Messi-esque goal
Barcelona women's forward Barbara Latorre made like Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona in scoring a gorgeous goal against Espanyol.
Latorre, 23, started by juking one defender after receiving a short pass. She then weaved through three more defenders, was completely fouled and taken down from behind by another, managed to bounce back up and curl an effort around the goalkeeper, scoring for against her former team in sensational fashion.
The goal evoked memories of Maradona's weaving run for Argentina against England in the 1986 World Cup and another Barcelona goal, Messi's remarkable effort against Getafe in 2007. Both involved lengthy runs, incredible ball control and perseverance and a lot of defenders looking back and wondering where it all went wrong.
