Watch Cristiano Ronaldo score on a beautiful counterattack (with backheel nutmeg)
Borussia Dortmund ran roughshod all over Real Madrid for 17 minutes. 17 minutes of sauce. For 17 minutes, this Dortmund team went zipping all over the pitch, pinging the ball around, and generally doing what they've done to nearly every team that's come up against them this year. Then, Madrid did a Very Madrid Thing.
It only took seconds for them to get down the pitch after Dortmund had their attack thwarted in Madrid's defensive third. A couple sexy passes, a little backheel nutmeg from Gareth Bale, and who else but Cristiano Ronaldo ends up careering away from the goal arms raised? It's a story we've seen too many times before.
This Dortmund team is insanely fun and they were in the first half. But Real Madrid on the counterattack, with Ronaldo on the end of it all? That's just as fun. Just as pretty. Just as great.
