U.S. men's national team's Fabian Johnson rescued a point for Borussia Monchengladbach Wednesday, scoring a late equalizer in a 1-1 draw against RB Leipzig in Bundesliga play.

Johnson, who was denied in the 27th minute on a blast from inside the area, tallied his first goal of the season in the 84th minute. He matched Timo Werner's early opener by latching onto a ball from Lars Stindl on the right wing, smoothly cutting back to his left foot and curling a low chance by goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi to net the equalizer.

The goal comes a few days after Johnson assisted on Thorgan Hazard goal in Monchengladbach's 4-1 win over Werder Bremen.
