Watch Giovani Dos Santos score a gorgeous outside-of-the-boot flick for the LA Galaxy

Up until a couple week ago, the LA Galaxy looked to be in for a historically bad season in MLS. Their star, Mexican striker Giovani Dos Santos, hadn't scored since the first week of the season and seemed to be going through something of a drought. As such, the Galaxy struggled and looked far from the powerhouse reputation the club has set over the years.

But maybe they just needed some time to get going? Now, Dos Santos has three goals in three games and his nicest goal yet came Sunday. He finished a Romain Alessandrini cross with a leaping outside-of-the-boot finish to help lift the Galaxy over Minnesota United, 2-1. Take a look at his spectacular goal:

What kind of a finish was that?! That was something special from Dos Santos, who has had trouble getting into prime scoring positions for the Galaxy this season. It could mean the return of Dos Santos as the leading man for the Galaxy, which may come at the right time as Mexico looks ahead to World Cup qualifying. Dos Santos made the provisional roster for Mexico's qualifier vs. the United States.

Up until now, Alessandrini has emerged as the new leader of the Galaxy since he arrived this season. Of the Galaxy's 14 this season, Alessandrini has scored or assisted on 11 of them, including Dos Santos' on Sunday. But with Dos Santos finding his form at four goals and assist on the season, maybe it will be more of an equal partnership going forward. Galaxy fans can only hope, because Dos Santos' goal on Sunday was a stunner.
