Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday met at Wembley on Saturday for the promotion play-off final. The winner would earn a spot in the Premier League for next season, while the loser would stay in the Championship.

So when the match was scoreless in the 72nd minute, both teams were desperate for a moment of brilliance. Any moment of brilliance.

Enter Hull's Mohamed Diame.

Hot damn. He's 25 yards out, with his club's future on the line and he pulls that out?! 18 minutes later, Hull had won the final and were onto the Premier League.

And how much was that goal worth? More than £100 million!

Every promotion play-off final is worth a lot, in terms of pride and stature, but also monetarily. Teams in the Premier League make a ton of money, which is why many call the play-off final the richest match in the world. And that was taken to another level this season because the Premier League's new TV deal kicks in next year, which means the winner would be guaranteed at least £100 million in TV money alone. Toss in the rest of the money that comes with being in the top flight and Hull might as well be Scrooge McDuck.

That makes Diame's strike the most valuable in the history of sports. Hull are going to have their financial futures completely flipped upside down now, and all thanks to Diame's moment of brilliance.

Party on, Hull, and pop some champagne. You can afford it now.
