Watch: Rakitic gives Barcelona lead vs. Atletico Madrid
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are two of the top teams and Spain–and the world–and their midweek clash at Camp Nou could well wind up determining both team's fortunes this season.
In the last four years, Barcelona has won three Spanish league titles and a Champions League crown, while Atletico Madrid has won one league title and been runner-up in two Champions Leagues, and their clash of styles makes their meetings some of the most anticipated of the year in any league.
Barcelona threatened with its usual front-line fury caused by Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez, but it took a pair of other star players to open the scoring. Ivan Rakitic beat Jan Oblak in the 41st minute on a terrific header from close range, latching onto Andres Iniesta's pinpoint ball.
