Wes Morgan too tired from partying for Jamaica's Copa America Centenario opener

Wes Morgan won't play for Jamaica in their Copa America Centenario opener. Apparently he's too tired from partying.

"Our team is complete. Wes Morgan has come, but he is tired; that is clear," Jamaica manager Winfried Schafer told the Sunday Gleaner. "All week, he has not trained. He partied in London and Thailand, but I am very happy he is here and maybe he can help (play) in the second match, but not the first match because it is too difficult."

Morgan has plenty of reason to party. He just captained Leicester City to the most unlikely Premier League title in the competition's history and has since been celebrating. He did it in England, and then he joined his teammates in Thailand, where Leicester's owner is from and organized some celebrations.

The problem is that Jamaica were hoping to have the dominant centerback in their defense for Copa America. And now Morgan won't play against Venezuela (Sunday, 5 p.m. ET, FOX).

If Jamaica had to play without Morgan for one match this tournament, this is the match they would want him out for. Venezuela might be the worst team in South America and the Reggae Boyz can get a win without him. Michael Hector will probably step into the starting lineup for Morgan, and after Hector's strong season for Reading, on loan from Chelsea, Jamaica's defense will still be strong.
