On his day he’s world class. Obviously as he ages those days get further apart, but they’re still there. It was just over a season ago that is was a weird game when he didn’t grab an assist for Chelsea. He’s a classy midfielder.
However, so far, he has not fit into Conte’s plans at Chelsea. He has lost his place to others and it seems he is finding it very hard to win back. And that is despite looking good when he gets on the pitch. Many think he just isn’t the type of player that Conte wants in his holding midfield, and he won’t play.

For a player approaching his thirties, sitting on the bench isn’t that attractive. As such many have put forward that he will want to move away, but to what club? Where will take him? Were would he consider joining?

The East London club have struggled to match last season’s start, and part of that is issues in the midfield. Noble has been caught forward too often and has been more wasteful with the ball at his feet as well.
Fabregas is unlikely to join a team that is not at least challenging for European football. He is not yet too old to play 30+ games in a season and his type of play benefits a quality side with a lot of movement up in front of him, providing him with options when it comes to the pass. Having already played for Arsenal and Chelsea, would he play for another London side?

I don’t think West Ham will go for Fabregas, because he is likely to be too expensive without actually covering the gaps in midfield that we have. He is not a tackling defensive midfielder, but a more expansive one. I also doubt he’d want to stay in the Premier League.
If Fabregas does move in January, I can imagine it will be back to Europe. There are many teams that will take him there, and possibly a less physical league suits his passing game more. If any part of the rumour is to be believed, it is that Fabregas wants out. I can’t imagine him hanging around on the bench very long.
